HOW SELECTIONS WORK

Compared statewide. Selected by score.

The candidate pool contains modeled first- and second-team All-State position selections from all five classes. Each team has four pitchers, three catchers, six infielders, and four outfielders, plus two at-large selections from the separate class at-large candidate pool.

Catcher eligibility: A documented defensive caught-stealing count (CS), including a documented zero, is required for All-Missouri selection, including at-large selection for primary catchers. CS% is optional when CS is documented. Batting CS measures baserunning and does not qualify. Missing catching CS cannot be inferred or replaced with a proxy. Existing fielding proxies remain available for other positions.

All candidates are rescored against one common baseline of eligible players across Classes 1–5. Pitchers use the All-State pitching-only formula; other positions retain their existing offense and defense weights. No additional strength-of-schedule factor or class quota is applied.

All-Missouri selections are ranked by statewide score within each position. District, Region and State team placement or ordering does not restrict All-Missouri ranking. The highest scores fill first team, followed by second team. Existing class finalist guarantees do not create additional statewide guarantees.

At-large selections: Class at-large qualifiers include top-five AVG, OPS or ERA leaders (ties included), with at least 50 AB for batting or 35 IP for pitching and first-team All-Region eligibility. Players already on either All-Missouri position team are removed. Remaining candidates are ranked using statewide total team utility: 40% hitting, 40% pitching and 20% defense, with participation and staff-innings scaling. The two highest remaining utility scores are selected for first team, then the next two for second team. All class at-large qualifiers are eligible; no advancement or prior-order restrictions apply. A player can appear only once across all four position and at-large rosters.
